First Aid At Work

This 3-day FAA Level 3 Award course offers a variety of first aid situations and teaches how to respond to an emergency. It gives delegates the confidence to deal with any of these situations safely and efficiently.

Heath and safety law states that all employers should provide a safe and healthy working environment. This is even for those who are self-employed and have one employee, and all the way up to a large international business.
 
Our level 3 qualification, given after completion of the First Aid At Work course, will provide delegates with the knowledge and confidence to attend any first aid situation. It is FAA (First Aid Awards Ltd) regulated by OFQUAL, provided by NUCO Training, and is to the highest first aid training level available. 
 

***This course can be done as part of a blended learning qualification with Blended First Aid. Delegates will need to complete 2 days Face to Face Training and 6 hours E-Learning***

 

The First Aid at Work Training course covers the following:

  • The Role of a First Aider
  • Health and Safety Regulations (First Aid)
  • Responding to an Emergency 
  • Casualty Care
  • Unresponsive Casualty (Recovery Position)
  • Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
  • Choking 
  • Seizures
  • Shock
  • Bleeding (Minor and Severe)
  • Burns and Scalds 
  • Chest Pains (Heart Attack, Stroke)
  • Eye Injuries
  • Bones, Joints and Muscle Injuries 
  • Head and Spinal Injuries
  • Allergic Reactions including Anaphylaxis 
  • Poisoning

Assessment and Qualifications:

On completion of the course assessments for any Workplace First Aid training, delegates will be awarded an FAA certificate regulated by OFQUAL.

Continuous observation with practical and theoretical assessments throughout. 

All certificates are valid for 3 years from completion of the course (regardless of age).

Cost: £1200 for up to 12 Delegates

£999 for the Blended First Aid qualification

Additional information

Duration:

The First Aid In The Workplace courses are held over a 3-day period of 18 hours minimum. There is an option for 18 hours spread over a maximum of 10 weeks with the shortest session being 2 hours. Please contact us for details on this.

Delegate Numbers:

There is a maximum of 12 delegates per course to ensure the trainer is able to assess all those present equally. 

Minimum age of attendance is 14 years for First Aid at Work. Please note that delegates cannot be the designated First Aider in a workplace until they are 16 years old. 

Apparatus used:

We use Laerdal Anne dolls – adult, child and baby, AEDs, bandages, Auto Injectors, slings, face sheilds, First Aid kits, plasters, tweezers, choking vests, gloves, manikin wipes, blankets, floor mats, ice packs.

Infection control:

We have put in place extensive measures to ensure that our clients will be safe during our training and that together we stop the spread.

Refresher:

A refresher session is recommended annually. 

Requalification:

To requalify and continue to hold the Level 3 First Aid At Work course certificate you must complete the 2-day requalification course within 3 years.

Breaks:

Each day there are two 15-minute breaks and an hour lunch break. 

Lunch is not provided, but there are teas and coffees provided throughout the day.
