Paediatric First Aid

Our 2-day,  Paediatric First Aid FAA Level 3 Award course is perfect for those who work with children and babies – particularly those who are teachers, childminders, nursery workers, playground assistants and school personnel. 

This level 3 qualification will provide delegates with the knowledge and confidence to attend any first aid situation within a childcare setting. It is FAA (First Aid Awards Ltd) regulated by OFQUAL, provided by NUCO Training and is to the highest first aid training level available. 

This 2-day course offers a variety of emergency first aid situations and teaches how to respond to an emergency involving children.

This 2-day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted. 

***This course can be done as part of a blended learning qualification with Blended First Aid. Delegates will need to complete 1 day Face to Face practical training and 6 hours E-Learning***

The Paediatric First Aid Training course covers the following:

  • Responsibilities and Reporting 
  • Assessing a Situation 
  • CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
  • Unconscious Casualty 
  • Choking 
  • Head Injuries 
  • Fainting 
  • Diabetes
  • Seizures (Including Febrile Convulsions)
  • Foreign Bodies 
  • Bleeding and Shock
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Eye Injuries 
  • Fractures
  • Heat and Cold
  • Asthma 
  • Sickle Cell Anaemia and Meningitis 
  • Burns

Assessment and Qualifications:

Continuous observation with practical and theoretical assessments throughout. 

A multiple-choice question paper at the end of the two days assessing the delegate’s knowledge. 

On completion of the course assessments delegates will be awarded an FAA certificate valid for 3 years and regulated by OFQUAL. This qualification is in line with the guidelines and criteria for EYFS and Ofsted. 

Cost: £825 for up to 12 delegates

£775 for the blended first aid qualification

Additional Information

Delegate Numbers:

There is a maximum of 12 delegates per course to meet the requirements for the qualification. 

Duration: The course is held over 2 days of 12 hours minimum. 

Apparatus used:

We use Laerdal Anne dolls – adult, child and baby, AEDs, bandages, Auto Injectors, slings, face sheilds, First Aid kits, plasters, tweezers, choking vests, gloves, manikin wipes, blankets, floor mats, ice packs.

Infection control:

We have put in place extensive measures to ensure that our clients will be safe during our training and that together we stop the spread.

Requalification:

To re-qualify complete the above 2-day course every 3 years. 

Refresher:

A refresher session is recommended annually.

Breaks:

Each day there are two 15-minute breaks and an hour lunch break. 

Lunch is not provided, but there are teas and coffees provided throughout the day.
