AED Automated External Defibrillator

An AED is a life-saving piece of equipment and can increase the chances of someone surviving a cardiac arrest by 75%. They are widely found in public places and within the workplace. They are practical devices designed to be simple to use. Our workshop gives you the practical skills of how to find, use and maintain an AED as well as administer CPR to your casualty.

 

The workshop covers the following:

  • The Primary Survey
  • Secondary assessment
  • Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Functions of an AED (4 hour session only)
  • Using an AED
  • Safety measures & AED maintenance (4 hour session only)

AED Device

Assessment and Qualifications:

Continuous observation with practical and theoretical assessments throughout. On completion of the 4-hour course assessments, delegates will be awarded an FAA certificate valid for 3 years regulated by OFQUAL. Please note that this Level 2 Qualification will be awarded only in the 4-hour course. A refresher session is recommended annually.

Cost: for up to 12 delegates 

£250 – 2 hours

Additional Information

Delegate Numbers:

There is a maximum of 12 delegates per course to meet the requirements for the qualification. The minimum age of attendance is 14 years old for First Aid at Work. Please note that delegates cannot be the designated First Aider in a workplace until they are 16 years old.

Duration

This is a 4-hour workshop.

Apparatus used:

We use AEDs supplied by Trimbio.

If you would like further information on purchasing an AED please visit the Trimbio Website. Trimbio is the recommended supplier for new and second-hand AEDs.

Infection control:

We have put in place extensive measures to ensure that our clients will be safe during our training and that together we stop the spread.

 

Refresher:

It is recommended to refresh the training once a year. Please see our other workshops. 

Breaks:

You will have a 15-minute break during this session.
